As representative of Gujarat Rajya Gram Vikas Samiti, I have the privilege of witnessing firsthand the impact of charitable initiatives that uplift lives. On February 21st, 2024, I had the honor of attending the inauguration of the “Charity Mission for Corrective Surgery” at Health & Care Foundation at Indukaka Ipcowala Sewa Sansthan. This remarkable event and the Charity Mission, organized by the legendary Dr. Bharat Bhagat and fueled by the dedication of Dr. Shital N. Parikh and his team left an indelible mark on my heart.
The ceremony commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the esteemed Lion Pravin Chhajed, Dr. Bharat Bhagat, and Dr. Shital. This symbolic gesture ignited a beacon of hope for the over 200+ individuals who will receive life-altering corrective surgeries throughout the week. What truly touched me was the fact that these surgeries are being performed entirely free of charge by a team of dedicated surgeons from Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, USA [Dr. Shital Parikh, Dr. Kevin Little, Dr. Andrea Chan, Dr. Karmela Franic-Everhart, Lori Delaney, Dr. Jourdan Gard, Dr. Dattesh Dave, Dr. Sheaba Varghese, Dr. Katherine Schroeder]
These experts possess extensive expertise in treating upper and lower limb deformities, neuromuscular disorders, and hip disorders, making them uniquely qualified for this mission. Their selfless service transcends borders and speaks volumes about their commitment to humanity.
This mission is not a one-off event. Dr. Shital and her team have been relentlessly pursuing this noble cause for the past eight years, consecutively, impacting countless lives. Their unwavering spirit and dedication serve as an inspiration to us all.
