Urban Forest 5 – Ghuma, Ahmedabad
Urban Forest 5 – Ghuma, Ahmedabad is a dense urban forest and environmental restoration initiative developed by Gujarat Rajya Gram Vikas Samiti (GRGVS) on land allotted by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) at TP 03, FP 297/2, near Happy Aura, Ghuma, Ahmedabad.
Spread across approximately 3,875 square metres, the project comprises 10,000 planted trees, contributing to the development of urban green cover and biodiversity in the rapidly developing Bopal–Ghuma area of Ahmedabad.
GRGVS has provided the majority of the project's financial support and undertaken forest development and plantation care. Light Finance has contributed CSR support for the plantation of 1,500 saplings, complementing GRGVS's investment in creating a sustainable green space for the community.
The initiative demonstrates how an NGO's own investment, municipal land support and targeted corporate CSR contributions can work together to develop lasting environmental assets.
