🌳 Gujarat’s First Child with Zero Carbon Footprint ✨

Ahmedabad, September 2025 – In a landmark initiative, Gujarat Rajya Gram Vikas Samiti (GRGVS) — a 36-year-old NGO dedicated to environmental and community development — planted 100 trees at the Urban Forest, Makarba, Ahmedabad (📍 Google Maps Location) to celebrate the 3rd birthday of little Sarah.

This initiative makes Sarah Gujarat’s first officially recognized carbon-neutral child, as the plantation will offset her lifetime carbon footprint while enriching the city’s biodiversity.

Just like Sarah, these trees will grow year after year — providing shade, producing oxygen, and absorbing harmful carbon from the atmosphere. 🌍💚 Each tree absorbs around 22 kg of CO₂ annually, making tree plantation one of the most effective tools against climate change.

🌳 GRGVS Impact

Every year, GRGVS plants over 1,00,000 trees in collaboration with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, developing sustainable Urban Forests that:

  • Improve air quality

  • Support groundwater recharge

  • Provide natural habitats for native species

“The Urban Forest at Makarba has already become a hub for butterflies, birds, and native species — a living example of people’s participation in climate action,” said Rafik Mansuri, Trustee, GRGVS.

đź’ˇ Why Celebrate with Trees?

Every milestone in life — birthdays, anniversaries, or company achievements — can become a green legacy. By celebrating Sarah’s birthday with tree plantation, we demonstrate how personal and corporate milestones can contribute to climate action.

🌍 Call to Action

GRGVS invites families, schools, and companies across Gujarat to celebrate milestones with trees. Together, we can green Gujarat and secure a healthier, sustainable future.
